The council's email notification services

Within its MyRBKC service, the council operates a very good email notification system, where one can subscribe to information about upcoming street works and parking suspensions, new planning applications and/or decisions, new licensing applications, new tree applications and/or decisions, and a list of the council's upcoming key decisions (the "Forward Plan"). To subscribe to any of the council's email notification services, create a MyRBKC account by clicking here.

Other services

Battery recycling
The council’s household recycling scheme currently doesn’t accept batteries (except from some very large blocks of flats). However, the climate action charity WRAP has a useful search facility, Recycle Now, which shows several collection points nearby the CTRAA area where all sorts of batteries of different types can be handed in. These include:
Sainsbury's Local, 61-65 Kensington Church Street
Rymans, 96c Kensington High Street
Rymans, 56 Notting Hill Gate
Currys, 47-53 Kensington High Street
Tesco Express, 114-120 Notting Hill Gate
They all accept batteries of sizes AAA, AA, C and D, button batteries, camera batteries, mobile phone batteries, laptop batteries and powertool batteries.

Recycling furniture
Instead of throwing away still functioning furniture and other items, why not donate items that are re-usable? Both the Kensington and Chelsea Freecycle network and Kensington and Chelsea Freegle - which are a sort of give-away eBays - are still operational.

Lost or found dogs and cats
If you have lost or found a dog or cat, you can call the
Battersea Dogs and Cats Home’s Lost Dogs & Cats Line for assistance: 020-7627 9245. Open 8am - 5pm seven days a week. If you are holding a stray dog, the council's animal warden service can also be contacted, at the Streetline number: 020-7361 3001 (8.30am - 5.30pm)
